TEARS RUNNING WILD IN REMEMBRANCE

 

Though they were brief moments with you

When you left us days were blurry visions

Tears running wild in remembrance of the truth

Of times we spent in reassurance

 

You were the one person I never knew

I could love as profoundly as I do

As quickly as the feelings grew

It was evident when I looked at you

 

You loved me just the same maybe more

Sad days followed the loss of you

Tears running wild in remembrance behind the door

As flashes of our times together poured through

 

You were a grandfather I wish I knew better

I could have loved you much more

As I should have for a granddaughter

If life had planned it in advance, before

 

Kindness shared between us won’t die

The memories will last forever

Tears running wild in remembrance of the price

We paid for not knowing each other

 

You were the one I wanted to meet most in life

I loved you with more love than I thought was in me

Slowly pain faded into the shadows of time

And you became another sweet memory
